Working for 492.000 people deserves a prize
At the BVIC congress our employer branding campaign for the city of Antwerp was awarded 'Best Internal Employer Brand campaign of the Year'. The campaign was chosen for its strong strategy and its authentic message.
The main insight for this campaign is that when you work for the city of Antwerp, it's not the city, but its the 492.000 citizens that are your actual employer. It's them you are actually working for. How's that for adding value to your job?

A special award for ‘Thank you for not speeding’
Awards are like your children: you love them equally, but secretly one is always a bit special to you. We have received many awards for 'Thank you for not speeding' but the one we received today is a special one.
The Organization for Parents of Child Victims of Traffic Accidents gave us the 'Sinterklaas' award. This prize rewards inititatives for better traffic safety. Each year in Belgium, almost 350 young people under the age of 26 die in traffic accidents. OVK has over 1500 members throughout Belgium, all of whom are family members of a child who has died in an accident. And this is only the tip of the iceberg. For more information about the association: www.ovk.be.

Bollekesfeest
Antwerp citizens give their all during the anual 'Bollekesfeest', an open-air festival where the best Antwerp products and local performers are gathered.
We created a series of tv commercials featuring Antwerp citizens that are preparing for the 'Bollekesfeest'. On Facebook people can give a 'Tournée Digitale' and get a free 'Bolleke' at the festival.

European Care Award
We received a Care Award for 'thank you for not speeding', a campaign for the Antwerp Local Police. This prestigious European award acknowledges campaigns that encourage corporate social responsibility.
The Care Award is already the third award for 'thank you for not speeding'. The campaign was recently awarded at the Best of Activation Award (gold) and at the Flemish Convention of Road Safety.

MAS, seeing is believing.
The MAS, the new museum on the Antwerp 'Eilandje' recently opened to the public. The museum is as impressive on the outside as it is on the inside.
Words can't describe the sensation of visiting the museum, so we didn't even try. You have to actually see it in order to believe its greatness. And that's exactly what we decided to tell people.

If this wall could talk
If the Antwerp 'Kaaimuur' could talk, it would tell overwhelming stories about the Schelde and everyone that ever walked beside it. Unfortunately, walls don't talk. So we asked Antwerp citizens to inspire city poet Peter Holvoet-Hanssen to write a poem about the 'Kaaien' and paint in onto the 'Kaaimuur'.
Antwerp citizens can post their memories, poems and thoughts on www.kaaiengedicht.be. Peter Holvoet-Hanssen will use their input to write his unique poem that will be painted onto the 'Kaaimuur' in June.

Still crazy after all these years
No matter how long you've been married, you should never take your partner for granted. The same goes for your clients.
In a pitch with 3 agencies we convinced our client stad Antwerpen that we didn't take our partnership for granted. And that we'd love to keep working for them. And so we will.

Antwerp European Capital of Sport 2013
The city of Antwerp sent in a candidature to be European Capital of Sport 2012. We created a promotional film around the main asset in the candidature: Antwerp lives and breathes sport.
The title for 2012 went to Istanbul, but the judges were so impressed with the Antwerp candidature, the city was at once chosen to be European Capital of Sport 2013.

Real heroes among us
Meet the real heroes of Antwerp: the men and women who keep our streets clean all year long. We created a tv commercial in their honour.
The song we used is "Antwarpe", originally by De Strangers, and for the occasion performed by Axl Peleman. It's a song about the love for the city of Antwerp. After all, how can you continue to litter in a city you truly adore?

High expectations
To promote the Tall Ships Races in Antwerp we did what we first thought to be impossible: create a tv commercial about the Tall Ships Races, without having any real large ships to film.
This summer the city of Antwerp will be welcoming the Tall Ships Races. With no ships to shoot, we used shadows and created the illusion of tall ships sailing into the port of Antwerp.

Scheldekaaien
In 2009 the city of Antwerp started with the new design for the quayside. Because of the special bound Antwerp citizens have with the quays and the river, they were asked to share their ideas for the new design.
In 2010 the 'citizen-inspired' plans were finished and everyone was invited to look into them.

DE MORGEN LIKES LIVING IN ANTWERP
The decision to live in a city (or not) is often an emotional affair. So we designed a touching TV spot for the city of Antwerp, proving – in a typically modest way – that we have everything we need right here.
De Morgen placed our spot in its Top 5 for the first quarter of 2009, calling it warm and gorgeous. We couldn’t agree more.
It’s great to live and work in Antwerp. Trust us, we know. Everything is nearby: shops, playgrounds, buses and train stations, sports facilities, theatres. Exactly what young families are looking for.

Are you up for it?
Young recruits often seem to think being a police officer in Antwerp is nothing more than 'catching the bad guys'. They couldn't be more wrong.
Real police work is not what you see on TV. It requires empathy, a strong personality, good social skills and love for the city of Antwerp.
